Lehmann + Silva and Monitor are pleased to announce the beginning of MEL, a collaborative initiative between the two galleries that will temporarily occupy spaces within the premises of EARLYMADE Cedofeita, the Portuguese fashion brand atelier and concept store located in the heart of Porto city.

MEL is a project in which the two galleries invite emerging and established artists to display their works or develop site-specific presentations in an unconventional setting that breaks away from the traditional white cube format. Specifically, artists are encouraged to take over diverse spaces at EARLYMADE, such as the BLACK-BOX, the MONTRA, and the LOGRADOURO, to foster innovative modes of display and interaction with the viewer. 

The collaboration will consist of four presentations taking place over the following year. The first iteration of MEL will launch on September 21st, coinciding with the Simultaneous Openings in the Miguel Bombarda Quarter / Porto Art District, and will feature works by Sérgio Carronha, Dalila Gonçalves, Joana Hintze, and Laurent Montaron. 

This exhibition runs from 21 September to 9 November 2024.
