A silent enigma unites the works of Álvaro Lapa and Philippe Vandenberg. We may interpret the obscure dimension in the works of both artists through the idea of failure. The exhibition "Tudo desde sempre | All of old", curated by Óscar Faria, seeks to underline the paradox of the creative act: at the same time as it reveals, it also conceals. Through a careful selection of works – paintings and drawings – this enigma is shown to us as an aesthetic contradiction. Dialogues, monologues and silences guide us through two absolutely unique universes, in which language plays a fundamental role. This exhibition is a journey into the end of the night.
